The ends of this side reins are made of nylon cord (8 mm wide). The advantage of cord is that it slides more easily through the bit rings. The rein sections are made of webbing with woven-in rubber (14 mm wide). The cord ends are attached to the girth using two snap hooks. If the girth does not have an attachment ring, the included leather girth loop with D-ring can be used. The side reins are equipped with shiny, silver-colored fittings made of chrome-plated brass. Side reins are used to achieve the correct head position. If the horse holds its head too high, the side reins will apply pressure on the bit. When the horse gives in, the pressure will decrease. Cob size: 0.95 m rein + 1.125 m cord = 2.075 m (4.15 m total length) Full size: 1.3 m rein + 1.2 m cord = 2.5 m (5 m total length)
